This fundraiser is for Baby Elliot and her family. Funds will be used to cover NICU medical expenses as well as incidental expenses for her family. Incidental expenses may include income lost from time off work, travel costs to/from the hospital, food/lodging while staying in Mobile, and any other expenses that the family incurs. We will leave it to the family to determine what they need most from the funds raised.

The average NICU stay is about $3,000 per day. The fundraiser goal of $10,000 is just a small portion of funds that may be needed depending on how long Baby Elliot is in need of NICU care.

Baby Elliot's Story
Baby Elliot was born on August 22nd after a very long, strenuous labor that resulted in a c section. Shortly after birth, baby Elliot began having complications. While feeding, she stopped breathing and turned blue.  She was taken into the nursery and put on oxygen to be monitored for the evening.  Within 2 hours she had had 3 seizure episodes, 2 of which she stopped breathing.

The doctors decided it would be best to send Baby Elliot to the NICU at Women’s and Children’s in Mobile, AL. Throughout the night she had several more seizures (about 1 every 1.5 hours), most of which she stopped breathing completely.

Since she has been transferred to the NICU, she was monitored for 24 hours on an eeg without the seizure medicine. The results came back that Baby Elliot was having continuous non-clinical seizures all night long. She also had a brain ultrasound and it showed she had a brain hemorrhage.

They took her in for an MRI but we will not have the results of that until Monday. Please pray specifically for her MRI results to come back normal and for her to be able to come off all seizure medication without any repercussions.

Note from the family
We are accepting visitors in the NICU waiting room, just show up. We have not been keeping our phones on us due to finally getting the chance to hold our little girl. We love you all and are thankful for each and every prayer. So very thankful a room opened up and we are able to stay at the Ronald McDonald House here by the hospital. Makes our mommy and daddy guilt for leaving just a little bit better!

Today Baby Elliot is one week old. In the past 4 days, we have raised over $2,000 for Baby Elliot and her family! Thank you SO much to everyone who has donated and shared this campaign.

Here is the most recent update from Tim Kidd (Baby Elliot's daddy) from Wednesday, Aug. 29 @ 9am

Baby Elliot graduated from the Pods and got her own private room so mommy can spend more time together.

The doctor said that her seizures have gone from minutes to seconds and that he couldn’t see any physical signs of them which is what they look for.
We are waiting for the results of the ultrasound of her brain, but the doctor said he doesn’t see a problem with us going home in the NEAR FUTURE!!!

We want to thank everyone who donated to the gofundme that a family member created. We are so grateful. It allowed me to be off work and be here to support my family. It will also help us donate to Ronald McDonald House and cover our medical expenses.

Everyone’s prayers are being answer and we are seeing amazing improvements. We can’t wait to have our little girl home.

Update from Christy and Tim as of Sunday night, Aug. 26th @ 10pm CST

Baby Elliot is improving like crazy. She’s been taking the bottle enough that they got rid of her IV. All she has is the monitoring equipment attached to her. Feeding tube isn’t being used and should come out soon.

The doctor did adjust some seizure medication but said that the activity was better today than yesterday. Monday is the EEG which will give us an idea of how she is doing concerning the seizures. Tuesday is an ultrasound of her brain.

Today was a nice day with friends and family, and we look forward to seeing some more improvements with Elliot. She got a bath today and finally got in a real outfit.

This is the latest update from Tim and Christy on Sat., Aug. 25th @ 6pm CST

So there was no hemorrhage or bleeding in her brain. Dr said the seizures are cause by swelling that should go down. The issue is at some point during the birth she lost blood flow to a part of her brain which led to some kind of damage. Dr says they are giving her everything she needs to repair the part of her brain. And that because she’s a baby her brain is able to repair better. So they have to wait till next week when they can take more images to see if she is improving or not. Next steps are to get her to take a bottle and make sure her reflexes stay active. As of 4p she had successfully taken 2 bottles!!!!!
