This is a ongoing funraising page for the OUR Foundation bassed in Khurog Tajikistan.
They are a very small charity run by a small team who run the projects after hours in their spare time. At the moment they are attempting to start two projects;
In May 2017 the charity raised £1700 to take aid to some of the remote villages in the Murghob province of East Tajikistan. The team took food, fertiliser, medicine & school supplies to the area which is recovering from a very severe winter.
The trip was about 3 months in planning, the team worked extremely hard getting the donation money through various banking systems and ordering stock to their base in the remote city of Khurog. From there they drove it 320km through the mountains of the Pamir highway to the town of Murghab (altitude - 3650m population - 4000) and then over mountain passes to the even more remote satelite villages.
In February 2016 a friend and I spent 2 weeks working for this charity organising an aid shipment to the Bartang Valley after an earthquake struck there in December. The staff work extremely hard in their spare time to organise and fund local community projects. The organisation has gained local recognition, respect and admiration in East Tajikistan but, due to the lack of funding, has yet to establish a solid online presence.
