Rally for Ryley Strickland & Family

Ryley Strickland is a loving and spunky 7 year old who fought stage 4 neuroblastoma and has been in remission for four years this coming August. She has been healthy and is in first grade enjoying her life again. Last week Ryley began experiencing flu like symptoms and began to have bloody diarrhea. Her parents rushed her to the nearest Emergency room fearing their worst fear...that the cancer had returned.
She was transported to UC Davis that evening with concern of relapse of her cancer and that she needed to be with her team of doctors that has treated her in the past. The next day, they confirmed that the cancer had not returned but something else was going on. Stool cultures that evening confirmed E. Coli, an infectious disease that could lead to renal (kidney) failure if it developed into HUS, (hemolytic urieac syndrome).
The very next day, she began experiencing blood in her urine, which then confirmed that it did in fact turn into HUS. HUS can also affect blood clotting which then leads to platelet and blood transfusions. She has already had two bags of platelets and will most likely need a blood transfusion soon. There is concern of her kidneys as her lab work is continuing to show kidney sickness, which could eventually lead to kidney failure, then dialysis.
Ryley lives in the Vacaville hills on a farm with her mom, (Lisa) Dad (Steve) and 8-year-old sister (Ayden). They are trying to manage maintaining a normal life, while taking shifts at the hospital. Lisa, Ryley's mom works as a child care provider and will not be able to work so finances will be tight. Instead of worrying about money let's help her stay by her baby girls side focusing on healing. If you feel led to help this family maintain their farm life, help provide with gas money, money for groceries, etc...please feel free to give. This little girl has been through enough in the short time of her life and let’s rally around the Strickland Family and help them financially.
