Funding for an New Insulin Pump
Donation protected
Hi everyone! My name is Cassi Tremblett and I’ve been a Type 1 Diabetic for 33 years. This is something that I wouldn’t normally do, to be honest it embarrasses me to have to ask for help.
I need a new Insulin pump. I currently have an insulin pump (Veo 7xxx) and although it has been fantastic for the past 7-8 years, it’s life is coming to an end. I can look you directly in the eyes and tell you... the insulin pump saved my life. Before I was put on a pump, I was taking 6+ shots a day. My body decided it wasn’t liking that and started to reject the insulin. My kidneys were starting to deteriorate, I had broken blood vessels in my eyes and my blood sugars were unpredictable. My Hemaglobin A1c was higher than normal range.
Having an insulin pump has turned my life around and has fixed some of the complications. It gives you a steady stream of insulin through out the day, keeping my blood sugars in check and allowing me to live a relatively normal life.
To be able to get a new pump I will have to purchase outright. Unfortunately in Saskatchewan,Canada, the government will only provide funding for those under the age of 25.
I am applying to The Kinsmen TeleMiracle funding program as the pump has a high price tag attached to it. On their application they have asked if I have fundraised at all, and I thought I ought to give it a shot if it’s on there. As hard as it is to ask for this, it’s something I desperately need to survive.
Cost of new insulin pump - $7200
Coverage from health insurance - up to $2000
Funding from GoFundMe - To be determined
Funding from TeleMiracle - Remaining balance
Thank you for taking the time to look at my campaign and share this if possible ❤️
