There is an animal shelter in my country Colombia called AnimalSafe which rescues and gives home to 1000 animals.

If you can, please go one step further and consider sharing the campaign on your Facebook page. If you do, it will help build awareness for this huge problem in Colombia. I created this campaign to help continue humane efforts for the hundreds of homeless dogs in Colombia.
Right now there are hundreds of stray and wild dogs in the streets of major cities in Colombia and most of them are not spayed and neutered. There are many kind people who bring those animals to shelters like fundacion animal safe, but frankly there are too many to care for. The shelter is in dire need of food, and more importantly the funds to address the main problem. We are asking for help to provide food in the short term and funding to find a solution for affordable spay and neutering in Colombia. The fundacion animal safe has many kind vets willing to help at discounted rates, but the number of dogs is just too overwhelming.
Funding this campaign will make it possible to feed the dogs and begin to control the animal population in the major cities of Colombia
Please your donations will be sent to Mr Edgar Tascon who created this non profit/non kill shelter in 2001 after he was already retired and he have put all of his efforts and money on it. He started with less animals but over the years, sadly people just abandon their pets in the front gates of the shelter. He was able to get by with donations but due to the worsening economy many of the donors stopped helping.
I do not work directly with the Shelter . I live in USA but I have help them for several years now.

La Fundacion Animal Safe localizada en Ginebra - Valle Colombia esta al borde del cierre. 1000 animales que viven alla y que han sido abandonados dependen de la fundacion sin animo de lucro creada por Dr Edgar Tascon. Ya casi no tienen nada de comida y han tenido que darle menos de la mitad de la comida usual a los perritos.

La situacion ha empeorado pues la situacion economica en Colombia ha hecho que muchos de los empresarios que les ayudaban han tenido que parar.
Con sus ayudas podemos comprar comida a los casi 1000 animalitos, pagar el servicio de agua y pagarle a la veterinaria que tanto se necesita.. Yo se que esto es una labor permanente, pero no podemos abandonarlos en este momento de tanta necesidad.
