Fund Girls Basketball in Richmond

My name is Jeff Jaymot and for the last three years I have been committed to building a quality girls' basketball program at Richmond High School. I took over the program after a 0-22 season and have been steadily improving ever since. Our current season has been the first time in over a decade where we have reached double digit victories in Varsity play and had a successful JV program! With that said, regardless of the time, effort and money spent out of our own pockets, we still have experienced limited success. We rarely get student-athletes from our feeder school as we have a tarnished social stigma within our athletics program, but our girls' basketball program has been challenging that. To provide our girls with more opportunities to be successful I have been in the process of developing a youth girls' AAU basketballl program in Richmond with the hopes it will elevate the play of girls basketball in Richmond. Our team is named the "Richmond Tenacity". I always say, "every kid has a story" and in Richmond, CA there seems to be many traumatic ones. I want to create a sustainable program where these young women can thrive, experience success, and ultimately have a fair shake in life. I am hoping to host a multi-level program to begin our basketball club ranging from middle school throughout high school, but the finances determine everything. The less money we have, the less we can offer. If we are able to raise large amounts of funding I may even be able to extend our programs to elementary aged girls in the future.  Our basketball cub will use this money towards multiple AAU tournaments throughout the spring and summer (typically $300-$500 each), college ran tournaments (typically $300-$500), uniforms (multiple levels can get pricey), transportation, food, AAU membership fees, college camps (typically $250-$550), etc. We hope to begin playing this spring and continue throughout the summer.
