Fund for Hassan and Wife

On December 1st 2017, we met a driver named Hassan who immediately had a warm presence. After talking with him for quite a bit of time, he opened up about his personal life. It turned out that he is a mechanical engineer, and being an Uber driver is his second job. He has been forced to take a second job as an uber driver due to the unfortunate circumstances in his life. His wife is Ph.D. researcher who was specializing in cancer research. However, she now has cancer and Hassan is doing his best to support his family by working long hours as an Uber driver in addition to his job as an engineer.

He mentioned that he’s living a bad chapter in his life and he believes he will eventually move on to a better one. This really touched us because he still had positivity for the future despite the hardship that he is going through right now. The fact that this random Uber driver had a ~10 minute ride with us and opened up instantaneously about this problem led us to believe that this issue is always on his mind and he probably needed people to talk to about it.

We want to help support Hassan and his wife so that we can reduce the financial burden on Hassan. We want to make sure Hassan is able to spend time with his wife in this time of need, rather than juggling two jobs and being away from his family most of the time. Do not feel obligated to donate, but any money that gets donated to Hassan helps relieve some pressure off him to work those extra hours so that he can spend more time with his wife.
