FUKT at Dixon Place

Tax deductible
I started to write FUKT in October 2017 (as a response to weinstein) such a dark time. I wanted to make work that would be honest and real but after my show Whorticulture, I wanted FUKT to lift us all up and let us celebrate our strengths! Because survivors can thrive! We can move on! Because telling our stories doesn't have to define us.

So I wrote FUKT which is my story - it's a memoir, as if I was going to stand up and tell it. Lucky for you, there are actors I know who do a way better job, playing all the characters in my life while also playing me - just like a one-woman show - only I needed more than one actor because my life is compartmentalized, the way a lot of survivors' lives are with memory living in one actor, and my sexualized life in another actor, and a third actor doing the work of creating a new identity beyond the abuse.

FUKT shows the drama, the trauma, and the humor! that takes us all toward a process of integration. FUKT is about moving forward as whole human beings. So please support this work I am trying to share. There are plans for a full production in 2019. We need the workshop to push this play to the next step.

Funds raised will be used to pay the people making this work (actors, designers, director, playwright) and also pay for the things we will need like rehearsal space, props, costumes, make-up, water, scripts and marketing materials. FUKT is my most honest and personal work to date and it means so much to me to be supported because while my show is very specifically about one ordinary woman trying to speak, I am often told by other survivors, it is their story too.

So whether you know someone who is surviving or someone who is in denial over their status or someone who can't speak yet but might soon and you want to support them and understand or you are someone who wants to help people who are speaking or you want to be a part of our community for your own private reasons - please support this work.

And if you are a survivor too, you are not alone. I send you love, Reiki and hugs and want to assure you that you are good, worthy and loved. There is a light at the end of the dark times. If you need support, I have it - please friend me and reach out. I have been through this. I can help.

Thank you! For those of you who can donate a little, I thank you! And for those of you who can donate a lot, I thank you! Artistic New Directions is a 501c3 company where your donations will all be tax deductible to the fullest extent allowable by law.
