My name is Kay, and I'm 20 years old. Despite my privilege as a white and able bodied person in a western society, I have suffered. Depression and anxiety have hit me hard throughout my life, but more recently it has become crippling. There is a reason behind this.
Recently I began my social transition from female to male. This has relieved some of my issues - now I can live as who I am meant to be. But it's also given me more in other aspects of my life. Having a 'female' body creates so much dysphoria that some days I don't feel physically able to leave my bed. Taking hormones and having surgery on the NHS can take a very long time, so I have decided to go private with my medical transition. So far my plans are to take testosterone through GenderCare is London, and then be referred to have surgery on my chest to make it flat. In total this will costs upwards of £8000. I'm asking for a donation that will only cover the hormones because I am hoping to be more independant once the hormones start to make some physical changes. I will be working, as well as hopefully taking some little artsy commissions in order to help fund this stuff.
I understand so many people do this, and that I am unbelievably lucky to even have the access to do this and I fully recognise this. Anything you can do to help out would mean the world to me. I will try to thank every single donor personally because it will mean so very much to me.
