The Young family, owners of Koro Sun Resort in partnership with January Newland, past resort guest and Bula Wellness Retreat leader have partnered together to raise money for cyclone relief. We are asking for your support of the Fijian people who have made such an impact on our lives.
For all of us who have visited Fiji, we know that it's the incredible spirit of the Fijian people that makes these islands the most magical in the world.
On February 21st the largest cyclone recorded in the Southern Hemishphere devistated the Fiji Islands. The eye of the storm passed right near our beloved Savusavu. With winds over 185mph and storm surges well above normal sea level, the damage to many villages is extensive, with many homes and lives lost.
We are friends of the Koro Sun Resort staff and their familes in the surrounding villages of Waivunia and Nagigi. We are raising money to go specifically to the rebuilding and repairing of homes and structures in these villages. All of the money we raise will go to the Koro Sun Staff Fund.
Merlyn Ellis, an owner of the resort, will withdraw the funds here in the states, and make a direct transfer of all the funds to the General Staff Account. Then general manager JR will oversee the equal distribution of all funds to staff members to help them in whatever way possible in their rebuilding efforts. We will be posting updates as to how and where exactly the funds are used by the Fijian people you know and love :-). VINAKA!!
