Tyler Benton's Road to Recovery

OUR MISSION:

As many of you know, our dear friend Tyler Benton suffered a large stroke on New Year's Day, 2017.

By the Grace of God, and some of the best doctors and nurses in the world at UCLA Medical Center, Tyler is doing well, but only beginning his long and arduous road to recovery.

Anyone who has had the privilege of knowing Tyler can tell you 1) he befriends anyone in a matter of minutes, and 2) he spends most of his time helping out everyone around him.

Now it's our turn, as a united coalition of his friends and family, to return the favor, and help make his road to recovery as smooth as possible. 

Tyler will be out of commision while he's in rehabilitation for at least the better part of this year. Louisa, Scott, and Brian will be at his side moving forward, working as a team throughout the healing process, helping him retrain, relearn, and rebuild mentally, physically, and emotionally. 

This is where WE come in. Louisa's dear friend Mary Quinn had the idea to rally the troops (from Texas, to Cali, and beyond) and now, through this gofundme we ask for your help. The donations we raise will go directly toward Tyler's bills, expenses, meals, and making the rehabilitation process easier for his family and caregivers. He needs them, and they need our support. Louisa, Scott, and Brian are passionate about his recovery, and are devoting the lion's share of their time and energy to him. Let's give them the ability to keep their focus on the task at hand, reclaiming the happy, healthy, independent Tyler we all know and love.

In addition, for those that wish to help Tyler's Road to Recovery on a more personal level, we ask that you please send us photos with fond memories, notes of encouragement, poems, song lyrics, anecdotes, art... whatever best expresses what Tyler means to you, or a moment that you've shared.

We will compile these into a MEMORY BOOK for him, which will not only be a great way for us to show Tyler what he has meant to all of us throughout the years, but also help in the healing process as he regains these memories, remembers the good times, and looks to the future with a sense of hope and determination, knowing how much he is truly loved.  

Anything at all that you can give will help. However, a PDF version of the book will be sent to those donating over $100, and for those donating $300 or above, we'll send you your very own hard copy, as a tangible reminder of the time we all came together to lift a good man up when he was down.
