No more donations, please.  Thank you, everyone that helped.   See the last update for more information or you can contact me.  We will take the site down in a week.

May our friend rest in peace.

Update:  thanks to all who have donated we will keep everyone updated on the goal of getting Juan back to Peru. He has a surviving brother here that has no financial means.  We have contacted his sister Maria Elena Muchotrigo,  in Lima, Peru that will receive Juan in a dignified way,  thanks to you.

Retired Sergeants  Orlando Munoz and Nestor Garcia have found and arranged a funeral home.

Retired Commander Jorge Castro has been with Juan since the day he became ill and was at his bedside for days at a time. He has also been assisting his brother with the difficult process.

Juan was loved by many

Arturo “Juan” Muchotrigo was a friend to many  who knew him as a man with a huge heart of gold. He dedicated his life to hosting friends and families that crossed his career path.

Arturo came to the US with no family in 1984 where he entered the hospitality industry.  His goal was to help his family back home in Peru and his aging parents at the time.  He was later able to bring his brother Abraham. His career started as a food runner at the old East Coast Fisheries restaurant located on the Miami River. The owner quickly noticed his work ethic and attention he gave his customers and within a year  became the manager of the iconic restaurant that closed in the mid 90’s.

Juan went on to manage Garcia Seafood, where many in local government and the downtown businesses attended.  Arturo wore his heart on his sleeve and  carried his passion for people in the warming smile that he would greet them with. As friends and co-workers gathered to tell stories at his bed side when he fell gravely Ill, we could only say that he was generous towards others and never asked for anything in return.

We would like to fulfill his only wish, to have him rest In peace next to his mother and father’s resting site in Lima, Peru.
