I am standing in the gap for one of the most excellent people I know, Johnny Chavez, who just happens to be my brother. He was born and raised in Yuma and is best known for running the armored car business in Yuma for 30 years. In recent years kidney failure has taken its toll. He fought through and conquered cancer, a stroke... a few bank robberies, but now he is near the last stages of renal failure.
Johnny is a man who spent his entire life giving to those near and far. He chose to live a life that was open handed and sharing, and he did not build a nest egg for himself; but rather he gave to the needy and poor here and abroad. He is now in need of our help with his medical bills and care. It is my hope that those he so well served in the Yuma community as friends, family and customers would return the many kindnesses and help he provided his entire life.
