Devon Burke and his family’s life changed on November 16th, 2013. He was active in football, wrestling, and loves playing basketball. He is an outdoorsy kind of guy enjoying camping and fishing.
Devon was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma on his right fibula. He had chemo and surgery to remove part of the bone. It was replaced with cadaver bone and a rod on February 14th, 2014. From September 2014 to December 2015 he was considered cancer free (NED).
In December 2015, Devon’s cancer returned in his shoulder and hip bone. For one year he battled with chemo, radiation, appendicitis, and blood clots. He was considered NED in December 2016 when he rang the bell a second time.
Devon started college at Ohio University in 2017. Life was looking up and he was thriving after all his battles.
For the third time, in April 2018, his cancer returned in his manubriam bone. Once again, he did chemo and radiation. During this time, cancer nodules have been found on both of his lungs. Today (November 5th, 2018), he has started another chemo regimen.
Devon is now fighting tumors on his head, chest and both lungs. He will start radiation this week and chemo therapy next week (Nov. 26th).
Devon is the oldest of 5 sons. Devon’s mom works a FT job, but has missed work needing to be with Devon. With 5 sons as a single mom money is extremely tight. Any donation amount is appreciated. Please consider donating to help Devon and his family. All donations will go towards prescriptions, massage therapy treatments, means of transport to doctor appointments and groceries.
