Frenchie the cat needs surgery

Frenchie is a 9 - 10 month old loving and playful kitten, who has her whole life ahead of her. Like many cats that come from homes of neglect, Frenchie has an old fractured pelvis and broken femur, and never received proper medical care. She limps and shows signs of pain.
She was taken to the vet for a check up, and we were in disbelief to find the extent of her injuries. The X-rays showed a fractured pelvis, and what is called a femoral neck fracture. This means that the head of the femur, which is the ball joint which sets into the pelvis, has been completely broken off. Her femur is no longer attached to her pelvis. She needs surgery from an orthopedic surgeon. The pelvis should heal on its own, however the femur will not. She needs to have what is called an FHO surgery. The head of the femur is removed, and the bone is smoothed out, so the jagged pieces no longer cause her pain. Cats and dogs both do very well with this procedure.
We are very grateful for the generous support she is receiving from both the specialist and her regular vet. They are supporting us, but we still need $2100 for the surgery, her pre-anesthetic testing, her follow up medications and vet visits afterwards. Her surgery is set for January 30th. She and her bonded sister Belvedere will be available for adoption after she has recovered.
