Eidson is as rare as they come!
Eidson Mulling is an active 9 year old boy who just wants to live a "normal" life. Eidson was born with congenital neutropenia, an extremely rare blood disease which prevents his body from fighting bacterial infections.
Eidson has always dealt with serious dental problems and ear infections because of his body's inability to fight bacteria. He was diagnosed with Neutropenia at 18 months old and courageously underwent 14 surgical procedures before the age of 7. Eidson has been taking Neupogen for about 8 years which keeps his neutrophil counts high enough to "go outside and be a normal kid." This drug has been heaven sent for us because it allows him to go to school for now, but prolonged use could cause even more harmful blood diseases.
Although the treatment has been working well for Eidson, a fever still earns him a trip to his doctor or after hours to the ER for tests and blood counts (CBC). Because of his condition, we avoid pools, beaches, water activities, movie theaters, bouncy houses and any of the fun public places that most families enjoy.

For now we are treating his disease, but a bone marrow transplant means a cure, although there are possible side effects.
The transplant will be done in Atlanta. The process will last at least 100 days. The Go Fund Me account will help with medical bills, room, food, lost wages, payment of monthly bills, transportation, and many other things. The transplant will take place in about 6 to 8 weeks or as soon as a suitable donor is found.
