Free Andrea Castro

On 14th May 2017, 19-year-old Andrea Castro suffered from a Transverse Myelitis (TM) or commonly known as the inflammation of the spinal cord. In simple words, the connection of the nerve signals from the brain elsewhere to the body got damaged. Although some people may heal within months or years, others do not have the same luck and become permanently impaired.
Myelin damage has weakened Andrea's legs and arms to a greater extent - not to mention other functions of her body. With time, she has developed paraplegia (paralysis of legs), so she is required to use a wheelchair. Her modest family cannot afford a wheelchair lift that can connect the two-storey house and a high-tech wheelchair. As you can imagine, Andrea's freedom to physically move has become narrowly restricted - let alone other fundamental rights she is entitled to, such as socialising with others, continuing education, experimenting new places, etc. And this is only because she is stuck 24-7 in the upper floor of her house, where her bedroom is. Now doctor appointments are about the only times when she actually leaves her imprisonment. To make matters worse, her dad, who used to be the one carrying her from place A to B, died recently.
With this brief summary, I would like to join the Castell de Ferro community in their crowdfunding initiative to give Andrea the freedom she deserves. There are no borders when it comes to helping others. First, I will ask friends and acquaintances all around the world to jump on board with a little contribution (anything please). Secondly, I will make a vow and run a half-marathon in 8 weeks in solidarity with this cause - I will get into details about this soon. Finally, I will auction my belongings to raise money between my friends during my farewell party on 29th June. See you soon, my dear Australia.
