Freddy's Cancer Fight

Donation protected

Edit: on August 6,2018 my husband Freddy passed away after a 3 years 2 month battle with Lung Cancer. Thank you to all of you who helped us pay some of our outstanding bills and his medications. These last few months have been extremely hard on us and we can’t thank you all enough for your love and support.

Unfortunately we did not meet our goal in order to pay off services and outstanding bills that can not be resolved by bankruptcy. I have consulted with professionals and as it stands I am responsible for the loans we took out to pay for treatments, medicines and expenses. Thank you in advance for caring about our situation. Blessings to you all.

Original Post: The love of my life, my husband, Freddy, has stage 4 terminal cancer. Freddy’s Cancer Fight has been going on for 3 years after being given a prognosis of 6 - 8 months to live without treatment.  On July 3, 2018, my miracle man had his 6th Brain Gamma Knife RadioSurgery on three new brain tumors. Freddy is now preparing for another round of chemowhich is administered weekly because the Lung cancer is very aggressiveand has metastasized to his brain, chest lymph nodes, adrenal gland, right ventricle, leg bones plus cancer spots in various muscles in his legs, abdomen and back.

Wilfredo “Freddy” is 45 years young, married 25 years and has a 19 year old daughter who just took time off of college and went to work because we can’t afford for her to go to school. Freddy is unable work and I have work part time in order to pay the bills and medical expenses as well as be the caretaker for my husband because unless he completely stops treatment, I can’t afford to pay for someone else to help so I could work. All our family live out of state and while they want to help, they are too far away. We have used all of the savings, we have used all the stocks, bonds, cashed in all the policies, and sold all our belongings. We have no cash after the bills or available credit on the cards left for food or gas. Everything we saved for and dreamed to do; cancer has stolen from us. My husband worked hard to make sure his family was provided for and he instilled how important it is to work hard and have a savings. We thought we had all our bases covered and that these things could never happen to us but it has. Freddy is feeling tired as the fight has been painful and he’s worried that he is going to pass and leave his family in poverty. I used my retirement and I have no funding for schooling for our daughter. We face possibly losing the house, cars, everything we worked for all because of Cancer. This truth is affecting his ability to withstand his treatments as well as his spirit. So much to the point that it is affecting the quality of life he has left.

We need help to save our home, help for transportation and medication that is not covered which costs over $700.00 a month. We have a large number of bills that are severely behind but we just do not have the funds.  Even after paying basic living expenses, gas and some medications with my part time job and his social security, we can’t afford to put food on the table. We have tried to receive help from the state but we do not qualify for state assistance.

Freddy is the kind of person the person compelled to help while others are hurt or in need. He enjoys helping to coach kids’ football and even was a Girl Scout Dad for my Girl Scout Troop for 6 years. He loves the NY Giants, Yankees, Lakers and Celtics. Freddy got his Golden Gloves Boxing in Brooklyn, NY and taught all his girls how to protect themselves. Everyone who knows him understands his love, adoration and pride in providing for “his girls” (Speaking of all the girls in our family because he’s the only male). When I was in a massive car accident that debilitated me for years, he helped me learn to walk again and made sure that I would not stress over anything. Freddy also took care of our daughter who was in the accident, only 4 at the time whosuffers from a TBI. We healed better than most people would’ve imagined.

I want to be able to give Freddy the same peace of mind he gave to me so he can heal, find joy, and possibly live longer. I want my daughter to believe we will make it. I am creating this page so we can get the help we need so Freddy does not have to worry and can enjoy the time we have left

Thank you and God Bless.
