Freak Kayak Accident

My boyfriend and I were on a roadtrip from New Jersey to Texas to move to a new home. While we were traveling through Missouri, the kayak on my hood came loose, swung backwards and crashed through my rear windshield. We're really nervous about repair costs on my windshield and possibly roof because we have yet to start paying for rent, and we need help in anticipation for this to come.
