Who we are:
Team 7179 needs help to grow our program. While we are no strangers to competition robotics, this is our first year participating in FIRST. We are a small independent organization that offers students the opportunity to be involved with STEM programs and continue their love for science and technology outside of the classroom. We are seeking help to continue to provide these opportunities and expand our program to more students and families in our area.
All of our team members have been active in the VEX Robotics program for many years and have won numerous awards for their efforts. More importantly they have actively been involved with their mentor during that time to help establish VEX IQ programs in elementary schools, mentoring new middle and high school VRC teams and volunteering at community events to help promote STEM education for students of all ages. We plan to continue that outreach through FRC programs as well.
At our first FRC competition we were the highest seeded rookie team and won the Quality Award and made it to the semi-finals.
What we need help with:
We recently qualified to attend the FIRST Championships in Houston this April. We are raising funds for our hotel expenes, replacement parts, and meals.
