About a month or so ago, I received a phone call from my good friend and fellow troubadour, Nate Taylor in Boston. Catching up as we do, the topic of new music came up...
Timeline:
2007 - I post a video of me performing an original song "The Penguin" on Youtube. It somehow makes it on the front page... get's over 800,000 views - in less than a few days. Mind BLOWN. Overwhelmed in the best of ways. I head to Toronto shortly afterwards in the middle of snowmageddon (or at least to me it seemed that way - not natural for the season) to knock out my debut EP "On Passion and Reason".
2010 - After traveling around the Americas, Canada, and Europe I eventually make Los Angeles my Home. Foster some lovely collaborations and friends for life, yet somehow I still feel alone. On a whim invitation from a wise dear friend, I find myself heading due north yet again. Montana it was! This incredible land upon me bestowed - So much so, I decided it needed an ode.
What started off as just a short breather, became something more - I did not want to leave her! Montana - the skies, long motorcycle rides - a place not at all difficult for inspiration to be found. Naturally impromptu, I started recording some sounds. The landscape, the people, the laid back pace led to my first full length album, "Everything Falls Into Place".
2017 - Many years passed. Many songs penned. It's time that this seven year sabbatical ends. The idea is to record acoustic, stripped down, and raw - No frills, no filler, nothing bourgeois. Like most creatve endeavors, it won't come free, the producing, recording, making of cd's; The travel, the mastering, the studio time, the inspirational lodging for peace of mind. The marketing and PR, to make sure that it's heard; The video documentation to help spread the word.
Ok... Wasn't sure how long I could have kept that rhyming up to be honest... That being said - I'd be eternally grateful for any thing you are able to contribute towards getting this project funded and helping make it the best it can be. I feel like I owe you all more music and I've definitely had a lot to say since the last album. Every tiny bit helps, and if you're not able to contribute financially, no worries!
