Hi All!
Please bear with me because how do you put into words how special a family is to you and express that they could really use a helping hand right now? Our dear friend Frank Markus was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic lymphoma / leukemia about 7 months ago. Like true Markus style, they buckled in for the ride and dealt with it full speed ahead. I admire the strength, faith, and courage this family has shown during this entire time. Their eldest son, Cameron, dropped most his college classes, so he could work more to help his family. This was done without complaining and speaks volumes about the young man they raised. Mason, their youngest son, is trying to cope by continuing to play hockey to keep some sense of normality and stability in his life.
If you are fortunate and have the pleasure of knowing this family personally, I don’t need to go on about their unselfishness. Recently, I had a family issue going on that pales in comparison to what is on their plate, yet Colleen, his wife, still reached out to me just to check in with me and ask how I was. It was humbling to have a friend show so much love and support when she had her own troubles to deal with. They are a true testament to what friendship is.
The emotional ride is hard enough, but I cannot even fathom the financial burden. The money will help with medical expenses, cost of gas going back and forth to the hospitals, household expenses, and whatever else they need to help lighten the burden in any way. Any amount is greatly appreciated and please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers. They WILL get through this!
