Hi. My name is Richard and I live in Cornwall UK. I am married with two wonderful daughters. I love spending time with them and try to inspire and encourage all of us on to greater things.
3 years ago I was diagnosed with having prostate cancer. I had my prostate removed and survived the cancer but now suffer from nerve and bladder damage.
If I built or was able to buy a cargo trike it would mean I could be more active than I am at the moment.
I have tried to build a four wheel bike previously out of plastic but it broke and didn't work. I didn't get the engineering right. Is was fun and I was sad that I had to break it up. I have built another four wheel bike using aluminum box but it is for only one rider, doesn't have gears and in a county like Cornwall, hills are a menace.
The other reason I would like to buy a cargo trike is because I want to use it to encourage folks into off-grid technology. I would love to hook up an alternator to the bike and also solar panels. As I cycle the bike would use the energy to charge batteries. The solar panels would contribute as well. I would use the energy to then make smoothies for folks or power a bubble machine as I cycle. It would be fun giving other people lifts - they could cycle alongside me.
I have found someone who will build me a trike for £250.
I have also found someone who will build me the equipment for off-grid power and technology for around another £500.
