Immediate need: We have been fervently researching local places to move the closet to and not have to move again anytime soon.
We do know this is a lot to ask.
The options are just not out there.
We have found one option to purchase a building for about $60,000. The space is amazing and exactly what the Closet needs. The seller is willing to do a land contract with $10,000 down and $1,000 a month for 18-24 months with no penalty for early pay off. This is the best option we can find.
The closet does not have these funds and we are limited on time. If we could get 600 people to each donate $100 at a minimum we would be able to pay for the building. Then we could fundraiser for the monthly utilities beyond that. This is the option we will be looking at and will be able to keep us in our beloved city of Clio. Will you help us press forward as we go into 6th year of serving these well deserved kids?
History: The Foster Closet of Michigan - Genesee County is a 501c3 that is in its 6th year of operation. We have no paid employees and no one benefits from our non profits except for Foster children and their foster families. We hand out clothing, necessities, toys, furniture, etc. to abused and neglected children in Foster Care. We offer support groups, training, and fun events for the families. We have been in 4 locations in 6 years and we can no longer handle moving
