Help Rijo

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I am raising money for my friend Rijo, who I met on a commercial diving course in Scotland earlier this year. Rijo travelled to the UK from his homeland of Kerala, to complete a specialist Commercial diver qualification. Part way through the 3 month course Rijo suffered a perforated ear drum during surface decompression, at the hands of an instructor. Under medical orders, he had no choice but to postpone to the next course whilst he recovered, this course should have commenced a couple of months ago to allow him to complete his qualification and return home.
During his recovery the dive school went into administration. Rijo, along with many other students lost thousands of pounds that they had already paid in fees (12k minimum). It’s difficult for anyone to be put in a situation to lose that amount of money, but Rijo secured a loan against his family farm in India in order to gain the qualifications he requires to pursue his dream as diver.
Despite Rijo suffering his injury at no fault of his own, the school have refused to support him or provide him a refund, and he has no resource to fight the company handling the administration.
I am raising money to send Rijo to another dive school. I feel lucky to call Rijo my friend, a person with a genuine heart, very hard working, and a brilliant diver. The school and the administrators refuse to offer support, and I feel compelled to help him find a solution.
