A Brighter Future for my Three Boys

Donation protected

I adopted Ray, and Jesse biological brothers in 2002 and Kelton in 2004. All pictured here with my mother at Kelton's adoption. Ray and Jesse born to crystal meth addicted parents and were placed in foster care after Jesse's birth. Both boys tested positive for drugs and alcohol. We met Kelton in 2003. He was having social issues at Child Haven. He was diagnosed with Autism shortly after his adoption. My boys have intellectual and social challenges that they will carry the rest of their lives due to no fault of their own. For the record adopting and raising three intellectually children can be very expensive. We focused on their education, and high school diplomas. Due to the hopeful passage of AB64 a bill in the Nevada Legislature that changes the way Students with Disabilities are tested and granted a diploma. I am thrilled to say my last son should be graduating later this summer with a standard diploma. As of 2017 the boys ages are now 23, 20, and 18. Being their dad is awesome, in a lot of ways we spoiled them. We pushed technology on them and encourage music. I truly believe it help them cope through high school and social issues. We should have save more money but being this adopted family is the best possible thing that happened to all of us, and we would not change anything.

It is with careful consideration after 15 years. Our plan is to open a restaurant and bar my boys can learn to operate and then manage after I am gone, and can no longer help them. I am getting old and slowly falling apart, and sadly cannot provide for a lasting future my three boys need. To be honest we were not prepared, to support them forever. We are looking at franchise opportunities, Firehouse subs or Subway, or may just go and start a local restaurant and bar on our own. It truly depends on how much money we raise and how long it takes. The funds are needed immediately, because of the time needed to teach them the business. I know they can do this, and it may be a way of employing other intellectually challenged people here in Las Vegas. I have worked in the industry for many years and feel we can make this work. The boys are honest and hardworking, and will take instruction better from someone that knows how to talk to them it will truly be a family restaurant.

This is me begging for a future for my boys. One that does not include social security disability. One that will allow them to have and raise a family of their own. Most important fulfil their dreams of being productive, and self-supportive individuals.

Your gift is life changing for three kids that did nothing to deserve the circumstances they find themselves in. They are awesome young men, that need a little help to get started. Please help! By donating to this go fund me account my three children have a chance to lead their own lives, and not what a government agency may think is best for them. I understand programs that give employment to people with disabilities help immensely. There is a dark side to them. They get less than minimum wage, hours are limited, and they lose $1.00 for every $2.00 they earn from disability payments. It is difficult to get fulltime employment, and little to no room for advancement. I’ m sorry I just want more for my kids.

We will stay in touch with the results. With your donation you can see, visit, taste and drink the results on a future trip to Las Vegas, Nevada. Here the catch for all this. You people get to watch my boys get old doing what you made possible. Your donation makes us the big family with the idea all things are possible. Please help me reach our goal, and then come meet us all in person. We can do this even five dollars at a time.

Thanks
