Former Ole Miss player Johnny Dixon

We have a  REBEL in need of our family's support. Former Ole Miss football player Johnny Dixon has been diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. He starts chemotherapy next Tuesday and will undergo treatments for the next 6 months. He lives in New Orleans and is thankfully only a few blocks away from the hospital. He is raising his 16 year old daughter by himself. She is in the 11th grade at the best magnet school in the City. Jayla is at the top of her class in school.

Johnny is in a program that is monitored by Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Research. He is getting VERY good care. It is going to all be paid for through this program. His big need going forward is going to be that he is the ONLY person to work in his house. He will NOT be able to work for 6-9 months. The doctor said that the meds that he will be receiving are going to knock him on his butt for a while. The Oncologist said his success rate for this particular cancer is about 75-80%.

There is a lot more going on with this situation, but these are the highlights. We have other Rebels locally helping with meals and transportation for Jayla to and from school. The long and short of this is that with him not being able to work,  Johnny will need about $4000 a month for 6-9 months.
