Forgive Rescue Pup 4 Dentures

Donation protected
Karen is a dedicated caretaker of her rescue dog, Noël.  Noël is an Australian Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog and full of love.  Noël had a rough life before Karen adopted her, and survived many nights alone on the street and, as a result, gets startled easily.

One night, Noël was nestled asleep with Karen when a storm came through and Noël began to cry in her sleep - something typically remedied by being comforted.  While Karen comforted Noël, a thunder clap provoked Noël to jolt upright and Noël inadvertently smashed into Karen's jaw, knocking one tooth out, making another unstable and loosening 2 crowns.  Karen noticed her teeth began shifting, causing overwhelming, constant pain she continues to live with.  Sadly, this accident means Karen is to have her teeth pulled and replaced with full upper and lower dentures.

Karen has multiple sclerosis (“MS”).  Karen incurs a host of complications due to MS, and the necessary MS medications to maintain, including severe pain, ongoing sinus and gum problems and faster bone-density loss.

Karen consulted three dentists, receiving the same basic conclusion.  Because of bone density loss, a persistent gum infection and a poor sinus cavity, all due to the effects of MS, Karen’s singular option is to have her teeth pulled and replaced with dentures.  Karen can receive bottom implants, in the form of one full denture that clicks into two posts.  However, implants are not an option for her upper teeth, and so Karen can receive a traditional denture.

Karen’s pain is extreme and unending.  She can hardly eat and jokes that while she lost 10 pounds in 1.5 weeks, Noël is getting plump with all her doggie cookies.  Despite the nonstop, incredible pain, Karen continues to work a full time job, as it is necessary in order to scrape by.

The cost of living with MS drained Karen’s 401K and prevents her from being able to retain any form of savings.  Karen cannot afford the dental costs necessary to secure a denture system that will enable her to eat and live without the unremitting pain she now experiences.  Even with care credit, the monthly payout is simply too much for Karen to uphold, so will quickly result in high interest rates, ballooning the cost of care.

Dental insurance covers $2500 of Karen’s bill, if she starts procedures in 2019, and $1500 if she begins in 2020.  If Karen starts in 2019, her out of pocket cost exceeds $10,000, and more if she begins in 2020.  Please consider helping, any donation will help reduce the bill, and allow Karen to begin procedures.
