Help A Wonderful Person Avoid Homelessness

Donation protected
A woman whom I have grown to greatly admire and respect for her kindness, her empathy, her wit is current facing a housing crisis. She is a member of my community and is someone who really could use a break in life.

I want to preface this with a trigger warning. The person I'm talking about goes by the moniker ForgetHolidays. She is a 32 year old trans woman. She has raised money for Reclaim, a Minnesota-based charity that helps trans youths. She's always got a kind word to offer, and has always done what she can to help others, and has served as a role model for myself to be a better person.

Life has not always been kind in turn. She was a victim of child trafficking that left her with PTSD and dissociative identity disorder. It alsos led her to attempt suicide, though she is thankfully still with us. Social security, disability, and specifically section 8 housing vouchers are a large part of how she gets by financially, but she has been homeless before and has been struggling with the prospect of homelessness again in recent months.

Recently, her landlord gave her notice that they would be selling the property, and as such gave her until the end of this month to have her current residence professionally cleaned and vacated. She spent months struggling to find a new place that would accept the housing vouchers that made it financially viable for her to
reside somewhere.

I've been working with her and I have seen her pain and the stress this has been causing. She, thankfully, has a few prospects that are looking hopeful, but she is still in a precarious financial position with all the expenses she has coming up all of the sudden.

That's where we come in. We're going to help make sure she's stable, sheltered, and hopefully we can raise a little extra to give her a safety net in case something like
this happens again. I have seen what we can do when we come together as a community. After hosting marathons for several years now, I've seen us raise thousands of dollars
for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, for Children's Miracle Netowrk Hospitals, and for the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation. Now, I think we can all come together and make the life of one of our own just a little brighter. We're gonna give back some of the good that she has brought to our community.

On June 15th, starting 8am on Twitch.tv/ScribeD I will be hosting a 30-hour-long fundraising marathon on her behalf.

I encourage everyone to share this link, tell her story, and donate whatever you are able. None of the money will be processed through me. It all goes directly to her, I am merely hosting the fundraiser.

Thank you so much,
David aka Scribe
