YEAR 9 STRATHCONA GIRLS GRAMMAR : TAKES UP THE FORaMEAL CHALLENGE!
The Philippines is the world’s 3rd worst disaster hotspot.
Members of Canterbury Rotary Club have conducted medical missions in the Philippines for the last 23 years and have witnessed countless incidents of devastation caused by typhoons, earthquakes, tsunamis, and political insurgencies, where poor people are left homeless and hungry.
Because of this Rotary developed an EMERGENCY RELIEF FOOD pack called FORaMEAL. This pack contains rice, lentils, oats and vitamins; enough to feed a family of 5-6.
The packs, held by Rotary Clubs in disaster prone areas, are ready for the next emergency. No admin fees, no corruption, all volunteers.
In Australia Canterbury RC works with local volunteers to assemble the packs in fun-filled, team-focused events. Clubs, Schools and Businesses raise money to host events which leave people feeling proud of what they achieved and grateful for what they have.
Currently, Year 9 students from Strathcona Girls Grammar are working hard to raise funds to host an event. As the first school to host an event, they would welcome your support.
