For the love of Teddi

13 year old Luci has begged for a dog for several years as many kids do and she would fall in love with every dog she met.  She would ask and ask and ask until Mom and Dad (Scott) finally wrapped their heads around having a pet dog, they agreed. While Luci was away on vacation the search began. Mom thought they would get a dog and when Luci came home they would have a dog that was already house trained and in some kind of routine. Through lots research and friends opinions, they considered adopting a dog.Locally, most of the dogs available were very large or Pitbulls. They seriously considered adopting a Pitbull, but later decided that since this was their first dog they needed something a little smaller and something that would not shed too much. In their search, they found a local breeder that bread Bichon Frise puppies and they fell in love with one online.  When they showed up that day to Face time with Luci (because they would never choose a dog without Luci being involved) the dog advertised was no longer available, but two others in the same litter were. That’s when Luci met and first laid eyes on her puppy they named officially Teddi da’Bear.

Well the story continues, Mom and Dad took Teddi home and bought food, toys, a bed. The “whole enchilada,” as they say. Teddi started coughing and just did not seem right. They made an appt and took him to the vet. The breeder said he had all his shots…but he didn’t. The breeder gave them a certificate.  It did not match with the digital chip in the puppy. It was determined that he had kennel cough and a couple parasites that would require antibiotics and they took him home.

Over the next couple days Teddi was not eating very much and did not seem well.  This continued for a few more days. Teddi was vomiting all over the place and really seemed lethargic so they called the vet and the vet admitted Teddi into the Akron Animal Hostpital. They put him on stronger antibiotics and an I.V.. Teddi seemed to get a little better, but then he would relapse again vomiting and with diarrhea. Mom and Dad spent one day with Luci’s puppy and the last 5 days going back and fourth to the vet. Teddi is still not doing much better, but now Mom and Dad have invested almost $5000.00 into a puppy they have only touched for about a day, they cannot see him except through a glass.

The saddest part is Luci has never touched, never petted or played with Teddi one minute, she has a couple pictures and a Face Time Video. Luci does not have any idea what Mom and Dad have been through and Luci has not dealt with death well since she lost her Dad when she was very young.

Mom and Dad (Scott) cannot afford to keep paying the medical bills to keep the puppy they have fallen in love with and were hoping to have when Luci came home in a couple days. The vet bills are quickly climbing and they have no idea what to do. They don’t want to give up on Teddi and are doing everything they can to save Luci’s puppy. Can you help? Every little bit will count and any money raised beyond what they need to get Teddi stable will go to help other dogs at the local shelter. Mom has not been at work for over two days.  They are at the bedside of their dying Grandma. They are hoping to raise at least $3000, which still may not be enough for all of Teddi's medical bills, but Mom and Dad (Scott) are tapped out.  He is current in the hospital and funds are needed ASAP.

I can't tell how much we will appreciate your help.  We love Teddi very much and want him to be a part of our family for a very long time.

Please give for the love of Teddi!
