For my sweet aunt

Unfortunately this year has not been the best for my Aunt Barbara. Just six months ago my aunt had surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City to have a pre-cancerous cyst taken out of her pancreas. This cyst was so big that it took up the tail end of her pancreas which resulted in her having to remove half of her pancreas and her spleen as well. There was no reason as to why the cyst was there. She was never a drinker, smoker, or an unhealthy individual. It was a very confusing and frustrating time for her and our family as well. The recovery process was very long for her. She was just starting to adjust and get used to the way she would have to live her life without a spleen and half of her pancreas; when suddenly something went wrong. One day she was trying to get back into exercising by slowly walking at the local track, as she used to do, when suddenly she became very dizzy and went home with the worst migraine for two days. She could not bare the pain anymore and took herself to ER. After 12 confusing and scary hours at the ER, the doctors had performed a catscan and told her she had swelling of the brain and some sort of mass in her brain. They told her that she would be admitted into the hospital soon so they could perform an MRI. The MRI results had shocked us all and frustrated her the most. It turns out that her migraine was the result of a meningioma brain tumor sitting on the outside of her brain. The tumor was pushing her brain to the right side and that is what caused such painful migraines. They told her that it must come out and that she will be getting surgery very soon. We are all very worried and keeping her in our prayers as surgical procedures of the brain are no joke. As you can imagine the medical bills are racking up and going on disability isn’t enough to pay for everything. Which is why I’m asking for donations. Any bit of money you can donate would be greatly appreciated. My aunt is my best friend, second mom, and a mentor to me. I want to help give back to her so she doesn’t have to struggle as she is trying to mentally process all of this in. Thank you.
