Generating a Culture of Peace
"I felt like I was on a dead end street...but with Focusing and NVC, I've learned and I've changed."
"My heart was full of pain, it was heavy. Now I feel relief!"
In El Salvador, people are suffering from poverty, violence and the trauma of war. Salvadoran Focusing Trainer and ex-combatant Melba Jiménez facilitates community Resilience Circles with Focusing and Nonviolent Communication, empowering people to create peace in their lives and in their families and communities.
Each $5 you donate makes it possible for one person to attend a resilience circle in his or her community.
Each $50 you donate provides a 3-hour resilience circle for 10-15 women or children who have little access to counseling or therapy.
Each $100 you donate helps to train more people to lead resilience circles in El Salvador.
Each $500 you donate enables a Salvadoran Focusing Trainer to give 10 resilience circles per month!
Each $1000 you donate makes it possible for us to concentrate on our work in the communities, rather than fundraising! To make a tax-deductible donation, please visit the El Salvador donation page at The Focusing Institute website: www.focusing.org/elsaldonate.
Thanks for making this project possible!
In September we gave a free daylong workshop in Generating a Culture of Peace to a youth group in Nueva Concepción. Trainer-in-training Heazel Martínez will continue meeting with the group as part of her practicum.
The economic development organization CORDES just approved four members of their staff to take the course. We are starting to spread Focusing and Nonviolent Communication through entire organizations!
Today a group of Red Cross volunteers in Chile requested the training, but only one of them can afford the $75 to take the course.
Be our partner in these exciting new developments by donating to our Go Fund Me campaign.
$75 will provide a 6 week course in Generating a Culture of Peace for one member of a community organization.
