Who am I? My name is Rebecca Gregori. I am a high school Spanish teacher.
What's with the fundraiser? I am currently raising money to buy an energy-efficient, commercial grade refrigerator with a glass door. This refrigerator will live outside at the FoCo Cafe in Fort Collins and will be a place for the Fort Collins community to donate produce grown or purchased that would otherwise have been thrown away. People who can't afford to buy groceries will have access to this refrigerator and its contents during the growing season in Ft Collins (approx. April-October). As of today, I can announce that our new name is the "FoCo Freedge" Project. We are working in conjunction with freedge.org to make this happen!
Which fridge am I buying? Still waiting to hear back from some people about this. Right now the front runner is an 18.4 cf Frigidaire, but that is subject to change. More details will be included shortly.
Why am I doing this? It makes me sad to see so much edible food go to waste, especially when there are people in our community who are struggling to feed themselves.
When do I need the money? I'd like to have this refrigerator ordered before July 10. STAY TUNED for further announcements about another fundraiser/garage sale/art show (date tbd)
Why should you donate? I will be eternally grateful. Think about how good it will feel to know that YOU are the reason we could set up a community refrigerator to help those in need. Sadly, donations are not tax deductible.
