Flood support for Megan Moynagh

$1,970 of $3,500 goal

When you have to start over, every little bit helps.  Please help Megan today!  All funds will go directly to Megan.

Megan's been in Houston for many years now and we all know what's been happening in her adopted home.  She is safe, staying with a friend, but has lost nearly everything.

Clothes, furniture, everything that makes a life is under water.   School supplies for her 2 and 3 yo preschoolers are mostly gone.  Computer gone.   What's still there?  Bills.  A landlord who is still charging rent on a flooded apartment, expensive groceries and with a workplace closed, no paycheck for the foreseeable future.

Please help and share!

Thanks!

Megan's friends and family,
Liz, Willow, Chris and Susie

Things are - slowly - returning to normal. Megan's preschool class is meeting again, and the Houston Public Schools are open again for classes this week.

The parents and staff at her preschool have been wonderful. Offering love and groceries when they can. Megan is so grateful for their support and community.

Megan is looking for a new apartment. FEMA did inspect her old one, and found evidence of a previous flood that was never repaired too.

The move will be costly and she is still unsure she will be able to recover her security deposit from her landlord.

$10, $25 makes a difference. Please spread the word!

Gifts from parents and coworkers!

Thank you to all who have given! It is so helpful for Megan. We love the solidarity from the dancer community!

She's working on next steps beyond the temporary living situation with a friend that she has now, including trying to navigate the bureaucracy of FEMA and getting what she can from her old apartment.

She sent this picture of her bedroom. The whole apartment has at least an inch of water.

Thank you to everyone who has given for Megan so far! She's already been able to use your generous donations!

A quick update: she won't be able to return to her apartment. Her landlord isn't charging rent anymore but isn't releasing her security deposit either. On top of it, her renter's insurance won't cover the flood damage to her things.

I'm sure she is not alone among the residents of Houston in dealing with this awful situation of having to start over from scratch.

Please share this campaign with friends and family who have a little to give in support! And thanks so much for supporting Megan!
