We come to you now, in times like these, asking for emotional and financial support.
On Friday, April 1st, our dear Carolyn's life was changed forever. Snuggled into her bed with her beloved service dog, Toby, on a peaceful Friday night, she was awakened by her common law partner in a mad rage. The worst fear was quickly realized, and the words "You are going to die tonight" were muttered. After being saturated with gasoline and beaten in her bed, she somehow found the strength and courage to find her way to the door as her screams for "HELP" were heard by a neighbour.
The house was set on fire, with poor little Toby inside. Toby did not escape, and Carolyn has lost EVERYTHING.
Her scars, bruises and broken face will heal but her heart will be broken forever as the thought of her true life partner and best friend Toby is no longer by her side to comfort her.
But as most of us know, our Carolyn is a fighter. And it is with the support of friends and family that she will become stronger, and her troubles become hope.
As we try to pick up the pieces through counselling, finding her another service dog, and replacing lost items in the fire, we are reaching out to those of you who have already offered plus our many good Facebook friends for help.
Whether it is financial support, or a message of strength, well wishes and positivity, we appreciate any help that is offered.
