Doing It For Dan

Our amazing 44 year old friend, Danielle Curtis, has bravely fought breast cancer over the last 2 years. She has recently found out it has spread to other organs which means she now has Stage 4 Breast Cancer. It isn’t curable but is treatable with conventional medicine - but only for a limited time. There are many trial treatments that are not yet available on the NHS that have proven to halt the disease from spreading any further and she would like to do everything in her power to stay around for as long as possible for her family, in particular for her children, Ava 10, Archie 13 and her husband, Brian.

Danielle has faced this challenge head on from the very start, turning anything she faces into a positive. Before losing her hair to chemo, she Braved the Shave, singing Sinead O'Connor songs whilst letting her kids and friends join in shaving her head. As a result, she raised £1500 for MacMillan. Half-way through chemo last year, not feeling her best, Danielle refused to give up and still went ahead with her plans to go to Camp Bestival – throwing on her wig and sequins and with a huge smile on her face, she provided her children with unforgettable memories!

Despite this recent diagnosis, Danielle continues to work when she can, running her small start up business, Estuary Life, providing employment for many local mums.

Here’s where we’d like to ask for your help. Danielle needs to raise a minimum of £10,000 to fund some of these life-extending treatments to defy her harrowing prognosis.
