Car Repairs

Dear Gofundme Friends,

My name is Laura Curtis and I need help with car repairs so that my car will pass inspection by the end of October. At this point I was told by a mechanic that my car is dangerous to drive.  I drive a used 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe. I live in Staunton, Virginia. 

I have Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer and I am on chemotherapy. Although I am doing well now on my treatments, unfortunately my cancer is terminal. I live alone on a very modest disability income. It is very difficult to make ends meet. After paying my rent, bills, gas money and groceries I am left with nothing by the end of each month.

I live in a very rural area and it is imperative that I have a vehicle that runs well. As you can imagine I have many appointments with my oncologist as well as needing a car to get to my chemotherapy appointments. The Augusta County Medical Center and Cancer Center are located in Fishersville, Virginia.
 
My car needs new brakes, rotors, three new tires as well as an oil change and a tune up. The cost for all of the parts, labor and inspection fee come to about $700. 00. The mechanic I use is called Coffey's Garage and they are located in Fishersville, Virginia. I can provide an estimate of the repairs if necessary.

I am sorry that it is so late in the month to be asking for help, but I was unaware of how much getting my car repaired would cost until I took it in for an appointment on October 7th. I must have my inspection completed by October 31st. If not, my car will be towed from the apartment parking lot where I live as this is the managements procedure.
