This is our Pops (Greg), who unfortunately last year was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Grade 4 Brain Tumour, Pops was given a prognosis of 12-18 months to live. This was a huge shock to all the family but did not phase Pops, he still carried on with his every day life, even having to surrender his driving licence, Pops would still walk or catch the bus to work trying his best to continue normally while undergoing Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy alongside various other forms of medication. As expected over the coming months Pops slowly started to deteriorate, his mobility reduced and his thinking and understanding becoming more difficult. Now being in July we are currently exceeding the 12 month prognosis. However with great help and other forms of medication that we need to continually fund, Pops is still fighting on with the same stubbornness and charisma he has always had. As of recent, Pops has been given a new prognosis of 6-9 months, which is really not long, we are not willing to except this fact and have researched every possible avenue, however with the little information known about brain tumours there wasn’t much to find, however we did source a few ideas available for Pops, such as Care Oncology, Proton Beat therapy along with other remedies and treatments that are not offered or funded through the NHS. The family have had to make sacrifices especially Pops’s wife Amanda our nan to look after Pops, which has meant funding these resources financially difficult. As a family we would really appreciate if you could help our Pops have longer with us and to optimise his symptom control in what time he has left by donating or even taking time to share this post, it would really go a long way for us. As time is slipping away we need help to help fight this right now!!!.
