Dave Courchene Stem Cell Treatment

2 years ago, Dave Courchene (Nii Gaani Aki Inini - Leading Earth Man), founder of Turtle Lodge, was diagnosed with a rare lung condition - Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. This condition is considered a terminal disease, and life expectancy is usually about 3 years from diagnosis at his stage.
Dave has been going through a lot of ceremony since he was diagnosed. He has also been taking new medications now available that are intended to slow the progression of his disease. In August 2015 he went to Tampa, Florida for stem cell therapy.
Dave believes that the ceremonies, the prayers and love of those who are praying for him, the medications, and the stem cell therapy have helped - and he wants to go back for another round of stem cell treatment in February 2016.
This particular stem cell treatment is not available in Canada. It involves extracting his own stem cells and reinjecting them back along with growth factors to make them multiply. These stem cells naturally go where they are needed in the body and begin to repair damaged areas and grow into new healthy lung tissue.
Stem cell therapy is quite costly, and we are fundraising for Dave to be able to make the trip to Tampa and receive this treatment that we believe will help him heal.
