Fire relief fund for Amber and Gabe

 On the morning of Jan 31, 2018, my daughter Amber and grandson Gabe lost everything they own in a house fire in Westminster, VT. Home furnishings, pictures, books, clothing, jewelry, electronics and a lifetime of memories are gone. Their beloved dog and cats also perished in the fire. Local services found them a room to live in a local motel until they can find housing. It’s not a great situation but at least they are walking distance to grocery stores, pharmacy, eating establishments, doctors, and the hospital. Their next step would be finding a new place to live and furnishing the place. It has been devastating to watch my daughter and grandson hit by such hardship. They have experienced a rough road these past years'. Gabe lost his father, a veteran, 6 years ago and all his memorabilia was destroyed in the fire. Thoughts and prayers are appreciated. It's a sad and stressful time for them with a long road ahead to rebuild their lives. Red Cross helped with some emergency funds for clothing for Amber and Gabe the day of the fire.  If you’re able to help, I am hoping to raise $8,000 in cash to get them set up in a new apartment.  Amber and Gabe will need 2 months’ rent plus deposit and utilities to be set up that usually includes deposits.   Once a place is found, the next step will be furnishing the apartment. Every room will need new furniture: Bedrooms, Living Room and Kitchen.  Household items such as bedding, kitchen items, bathroom items and the list goes on will need to be purchased for their new home.  Many items lost contained family memories that will never be replaced, however Amber and Gabe will rebuild.
