Help Nathan recoup after crazy house fire!
See the news article here

At 4 am this morning (10/17/18) a fire started (suspected arson) next door to Nathan Hopkins and Jordan's house. Reportedly, after emergency responders arrived, a neighbor open fired on both the fire and police department preventing them from containing the blaze. Ultimately 3 homes were completely lost with at least one other damaged. The shooter took his own life before he was apprehended and thankfully no one else was injured by the shooting or fire.

Nathan's home was completely demolished as well as damage to his car and complete destruction his roommate Jordan's car.

Nathan woke up to the fire outside his window, woke up his roommates and then they proceeded to alert other neighbors. He didn't take the time to put on shoes or a jacket before he jumped into action. No one suspected events would unfold like they did and and that an active shooter would prevent the fire dept. from saving their home and everything in it.

When I say everything, I mean EV-ER-Y-THING! Imagine having to replace your wardrobe, your computer (which is especially a doozy for this guy), dishes, tools, furniture and possibly your car - all of it! Honestly - even if the money and resources weren't an issue - which of course they always are - I don't even know where I'd begin.

If you've met Nathan, maybe you liked him - maybe you didn't ... but if you KNOW Nathan, chances are you love him in an oddly unconditional way - quirks and all. You know that he'll be the one of the first to help you out if you're in a bind, to volunteer for 7 hours on his feet just because you asked, to spend too many hours cleaning your roof because there's no way in hell you're getting up there yourself, to greet you with a big hug and a smile and to have a long-winded, passionate debate about, well...anything.
He's had an eventful and introspective last year or so and he'll be the first to tell you when and where he's presented less than the best version of himself.  As a friend, it's been heart warming and inspiring to watch him through the ups and downs and see him work really hard to put his life on a healthy path to happiness and success. That being said, anyone who's had to rearrange and rebuild knows it's not an easy or smooth path. He's gearing up to go back to school and doing freelance work to keep the lights on in the meantime. Needless to stay, there's no nest egg to tap into when it comes to replacing all of his physical belongings.

If ever there was someone to see the upside to losing everything in a fire, I'd put money on Nathan to be that guy. To see this as some weird cleansing and an opportunity to really start fresh - physically and mentally.

As his friends, and friends of friends, it would be wonderful to show him the support he deserves and help him take this really awful disaster and turn into the new beginning he's been working so hard towards by helping ease the burden of replacing some of what's been physically lost.
