Fire Recovery for Sarah & Blayne

Donation protected
As many of you know, a massive fire broke out this morning at the Iconic Village Apartments in San Marcos, TX.   Firefighters  were on the scene at 4:30 am and contained the fire around 10:00 am.  An estimated 110 apartments and 200 residents were affected by the fire.  Six people were injured, one person was critically injured and transported to San Antonio, and five people are still missing.  The devastation and loss is indescribable.

Among the residents affected are Sarah and Blayne, and their two cats Lola and Loki.  The fire started near their apartment and spread very quickly.  They immediately evacuated and had no time to gather any belongings or personal items.  Thankfully, Sarah and Blayne made it out safely and were able to assist other residents in need.   At 7:45 am,  flames approached their unit and firefighters entered Sarah and Blayne's apartment.  In order to contain the fire before the unit was engulfed, firefighters hosed down rooms, knocked out two walls, and cut a hole in their ceiling.  Even though it was contained, the apartment is uninhabitable and everything inside is a total loss.  Except for the cats...Lola and Loki are okay!  Lola was rescued by a firefighter and Loki survived by burrowing inside a recliner of a hosed down room.   Both cats were taken to the vet and miraculously given a clean bill of health.

Currently, Sarah and Blayne are in survival mode and they need our help.  Everything is gone - clothing, furniture, bedding, mattresses, food, cat supplies, appliances, shoes, etc.  What wasn't soaked with water has been ruined by soot and cannot be salvaged.  We've set up this gofundme to ensure their basic needs are met and help them get back on their feet.  Please consider donating.  Every dollar is appreciated and will immediately go directly to Sarah and Blayne.

Thank you for your generosity and support.
