Please help an Old Sixth Ward family rebuild after a devastating fire.Emma and Jose Saldana have owned there house in Houston’s historic OSW for 40 years. Before that Emma’s grandmother rented that same house. Generations of children were born there, went to local schools, and started their own families.
Last Saturday they had a terrible house fire. Thankfully no people were home or hurt , but two of their dogs perished. It’s heartbreaking!
This fire displaced Jose and Emma and their nephew, his wife and son - it was a duplex.
They are a wonderful family and loved by neighbors who are chipping in to help with clean up.
Unfortunately the Saldana’s had no insurance and will need money for permits, electricity, plumbing, and building materials. Family and friends will help in areas of their specific expertise, but it will certainly be expensive. Please be generous in their time of urgent need.
