FindYourCampsite simplify your trip
Demo Website: http://campsite.imarkclients.com/
Have you ever been frustrated by the process of searching for a campground? Would you like to support a young, exciting business that donates 5% of monthly profits to select environmental groups?
Well, let me tell you a little bit more. Over the last few years, the lack of coherent campsite information on the internet has frustrated me to no end. Many websites post inadequate photos of the campgrounds or no photos at all. More lacking still, detailed reviews and tips about the campgrounds are hard to come by, except for the biggest campgrounds out there. I thought surely that by now someone would build a comprehensive website that would merge photos, reviews, and all the information you need to confidently book a campsite, yet this type of site is still not mainstream.
Working with a team of experienced developers for the past nine months, the webpage, FindYourCampsite.com, is close to completion.
Please view the demo site here and browse through the different features: http://campsite.imarkclients.com/

So why do I need your help, and the help of any fellow campers you know? Well, with the support we've received so far (+ my savings acccount) we have come a long ways. But to take it to the next level, to make it a successful national company, more donations are needed. Advertising and additional site features will take up the bulk of these costs.
In return, I am offering up a 10% stake of the company with a fundraising goal of $5000. What does this mean? It means that as a stakeholder, you will receive a percentage of the site profits based on your donation. We have many ideas for monetizing the site, but in the beginning it will come from ads and our online store.
Here is a hypothetical example: If you donate $500 and I raise a total of $2,500, your ownership stake will be 2% (a total of 10% ownership share available). Profit earnings will be paid out quarterly and your opinion will be valued as future development plans are made. Let me know if you have any questions about this breakdown.
Please browse through the website like you were actually using it and don't hesitate to give me feedback, even if you are not donating to the site. You can reach me via this page's contact information or comment below.
Here are some key features of the site, either active now or soon to come:
-The essensce of the site will be user driven. People who love to camp, like you and me, will submit reviews and ratings, add campgrounds if they are not listed, and upload photos to help grow a huge network of informed camping. The goal is no more guessing in the dark about the quality of your next camping trip.
-At first it will cater to car/trailer camping, then we will expand to RV sites and backcountry camping among other styles.
-It will have a strong environmental mission: to give back to the organizations that help protect the outdoor areas we enjoy.
-With that in mind, 5% of all monthly proceeds will be donated to the “non-profit organization of the month”.
-There is a membership rewards system to incentivize people to submit reviews, add photos, and contribute to the site. Free prizes will be given out - think bottle openers, rei gift cards, and tents - branded gifts that will enhance the camping experience.
-I will keep a running "Blog", that will cover all things camping and provide free content.
-It will be synced with Facebook and Instagram to help drive traffic and provide content.
Here's what you can do:
Big or small, every dollar raised will go to the site in some capacity. I will follow up with you and let you know exactly where your money went.
2) Share this page and this site.
Let your friends, family, and co workers, especially the ones that love to camp, know about this webapge and what we are trying to build. The only way FindYourCampsite.com will ultimately be successful is to have hundreds and thousands of users contributing each in a small way.
3) Give me feedback!
What works well on the site? What needs improvement or change? I welcome and appreciate your feedback of all types - positive or constructive!
The last thing I want to say is, if you have made to this point I really appreciate you taking the time to read this. I look forward to hearing your feedback on the site and the future plans.
Thanks so much and happy camping!
They say word of mouth can be a powerful marketing tool. Well, let's make sure to prove them right.
You all invested in this project because you believed. You believed that the world needed a website like this one. You believed in the potential return it would have. You believed in the mission giving back to the environment. Or you simply believed in me to fulfill my vision.
Well, the website is built. It's functioning properly and the design is clean. Now we just need users. And YOU can help with that. Each and every one of you knows people who camp. Imagine if the 47 of you each told 5 people who consistently camp, and then those 5 people told 3 campers they knew, and those people -- well, you get the idea.
Word of mouth can be extremely powerful, so let's make it happen!
Important notes to share with your friends and family you talk to:
1) You can review campground stays from the past two years. If you're the first person to review a campground (and A LOT have not been reviewed), you get an extra 10 bonus membership points. Redemptions start at 80 points, and include paid nights camping, REI gift cards, tents, headlamps, and much much more.
2) If you sign up using the promo code: camping2017 you'll earn an additional 20 bonus points.

Happy Camping - hope to hear from you all individually soon!
Excellent news - FindYourCampsite.com is finally live and running. Thank you again for your patience and the support!
Over the next week we'll be doing testing on the live site, and we could really use your help.
When you have an extra half hour in your day or evening, sign up on the site. Try submitting a review from a past campground stay, upload a few photos, or add a campground that isn't appearing on the site. Use the search function to hypothetically plan your next camping trip.
The whole time you're using the site, take some brief notes online and send them to us. What is difficult to use or understand? What design work could be improved on? How well does the search function work? And so on.
This would be IMMENSELY helpful. With your input, we'll make necessary tweaks over the next week before beginning our advertising campaign for the public. You can message me on Facebook or send an email: email@example.com
And while you're at it, like our Facebook page. This is where we'll be posting any blog articles and the most important updates and features: Facebook.com/FindYourCampsite
Camping season is just around the corner!
We have about two weeks left in the fundraiser and really need your help in raising the remaining $1,600, to make this website a reality.
Thus far in the campaign, you have helped raise over $900. Thank you so much for your support! I am also in discussions with a couple of potential private donors. It means the world to me. Without your support and donations, I wouldn't be able to accomplish launching the website.
I wanted to send you an update and let you know what's on the horizon for the website. In September and October we'll be focusing on two things:
1) Adding a couple of key components to the website - the first is a membership rewards system that will allow people to earn points for contributing to the site (i.e. submitting reviews, adding photos, etc.). They then will be able to redeem those points for a variety of things, including camping items (from as small as a bottle opener to a large family tent), or be able to donate the points towards select non-profit organizations.
Two other components of the website will be the option to sign up via Facebook or Google, as well as the ability to share reviews + photos on Facebook. Lastly, we're working on a referral system where users can share their unique code to gain extra membership points when their connections join Find Your Campsite.
2) The second big task to get completed is adding campsite information for the remaining states in the US, starting with the west coast and moving east. This is simple data mining work, but it is costly and time intensive. A significant portion of the fundraised money will go here.
These are the focal points for the next couple of months, and we are tentatively planning a January 2017 launch date! Thanks again for the support, and if you wouldn't mind sharing this page with your network once again, it would surely be appreciated.
All the best and happy camping!
