Help Me Find My Way Back Home

HELP AFRICAN AMERICANS FIND THEIR WAY BACK TO THEIR AFRICAN FAMILIES AND THEIR VILLAGE.
For the first time in history, African Americans, with the help of Africans, can systematically, and with a high degree of accuracy, find their African origins; the people and places. The Genetic sciences, coupled with the DNA databases and the internet, allow people to compare their DNA with the DNA patterns of others.
DNA changes very slowly over time and matching patterns can be identified with significant degrees of accuracy.
Suppose contemporary African men and women took the DNA assessment and recorded the outcomes in the same database that contemporary African Americans used to store their DNA patterns.
The likely outcome is that heretofore undetected matches between contemporary Africans and African American members of the DNA database will be found. And with that discovery the lost members of tribes, those taken in the slave trade, will have been found.
Ancestry.com is one popular DNA database that combines the features of a family tree building program. Here are the African countries identified in in my DNA assessement in the Ancestry.com DNA database:
Nigeria
Benin
Togo
Cameroon
Congo
Senegal
Ghana
Mali
Ivory Coast
I have been fortunate to have found a Ghanian cousin using the DNA matching method. We came to be friends in graduate school so that when his email address showed up in my list of matching DNA I immediately contacted him and we began building an even closer relationship. He's shared his find with his mother and learned of a family story about the taking of a girl and the prediction of her return. I've met his family here in the US and his mother over Skype. I've used Google to find the town and village in Ghana that our families come from.
What would be really helpful is Africans joining Ancestry.com, having their DNA assessed and entered into the DNA database, and starting a family tree. Africans and African Americans can begin to reunite long lost families and start a much needed flow of development assistance resident in the hearts and minds of the African American Diaspora.  Your contribution would really make significant impact on bringing long lost families back together.
Help African Americans find their way back to their African families and village. I plan to work through the various African Associations here in America and encourage them to get their oldest members to have their DNA assessed and entered into the Ancestry.com database. I will use the money I raise to reimburse the associations for up to 10 of its elderly members DNA assessments.
