Find Juno

Donation protected
On Friday, June 29 at around 11:45pm, Juno escaped from her harness in downtown Charlotte, NC. She ran from VBGB Beer Hall & Garden across a bridge over 4 lanes of highway traffic and into Greenville Park near Walter G Byers Elementary school.

Juno does not live in Charlotte, so she is very unfamiliar with the area. Juno’s Dad, Sean, along with Sean’s two friends and several strangers immediately began searching for Juno. She was spotted by Sean’s friend running into the woods at the park, and that was the last confirmed sighting.

Sean and his friends stayed out until 4:45am looking for Juno. After no luck, they went home to rest and returned at 7am.

There have been several suggested spottings from community members of Juno being seen in the area.

Saturday, June 30, Juno’s mom, Amanda, left her conference in Dallas, TX to catch an early flight home to help look for Juno. She arrived just before midnight and went directly to the park, but had no luck. The team departed home around 2am.

On Sunday, July 1, the team returned at 7:30am along with an animal recovery team (1 skilled human tracker and her 3 specialized K9 trackers). Despite the expected cost, Sean and Amanda were getting desperate and worried about finding their pup. Accepting that their own tactics weren’t working, they turned to a team with more experience and better noses.

The animal recovery team made a lot of progress and was able to help condense Juno’s whereabouts, hopefully ruling out a large portion of the park and neighborhood where she was not (based on the dogs not tracking her scent). However, after 6+ hours of tracking, it became too hot for the scent to be followed.

The animal recovery team helped make a lot of progress, but the cost for the team is not easy on top of the hourly rates for service.

Juno was rescued by her mom and dad in July of 2017 from HOPE Animal Rescue. She has served a vital role in her parent’s lives over a difficult past year. Prior to rescue, Juno was an outdoor breeding dog. We hope that Juno is hunkered down in some dead grass and leaves, but she deserves to be back home in her comfy bed where she isn’t at risk for dehydration or heat stroke.

We are needing to raise money to help offset the costs of the recovery team. Reuniting Juno with her family and getting her safe and healthy is our only priority. Juno is our family, and we are not complete without her.

Please donate whatever ever you can, as every part helps. If we are able to meet and exceed our goal, any remaining funds will be donated to HOPE Animal Rescue (hopeanimals.org) who is the team that first rescued Juno from her old awful life and helped us complete our family, as they do with many other dogs that all deserved a forever home.

(If you have spotted Juno, please do not chase her or call her. Calmly and quietly keep a distance and keep her in sight as best as possible, and immediately call Sean at (518) [phone redacted] or Amanda at (937) [phone redacted] )
