FINAL STUDENT FILM PROJECT

Donation protected
We are a group of university film students who are doing our final film project of our university course. We are trying to fund to meet our budget so that we could get the right gear for this project. This means a lot as it covers 100% of our grade. Would appreciate any amount of donation to help us with our future career. Thank you in advance!

Yours sincerely,
SPEED production team

Treatment of the film:
In the lead up to the qualifying race for the Australian junior Olympic sprint team, 17-year-old Jess begins to doubt herself after continuously coming second to teammate and competitor Bronte. Jess takes matters into her own hands by obtaining anabolic steroids. Days before the big race, Jess waits for Bronte to leave her bag unattended in the change room. While she showers, Jess pours the drugs into Bronte’s protein shaker and hides the bottle with the remaining drugs in the zip of Bronte’s bag. That night after much deliberation, Jess makes an anonymous phone call to the coach, claiming a member of the team has been using performance-enhancing drugs. The next day all the girls are searched, when drugs are found in Bronte’s bag, she is forced to take a drug test. Come Monday Jess warms up on the track, she sees Bronte arguing with the coach and staff, she looks on as Bronte begins to cry and leaves the stadium.

The following morning Jess goes for an early run, the sun isn’t up. In the dark she runs the trail, shadows form and the narrow trail seems to get smaller, in a panic she begins to sprint and falls over. The shadow envelopes around her, she screams. A jogging couple helps her to her feet, she awkwardly brushes herself off and breaks away from them, she sprints home. That day at training, Jess sees Bronte in the stands watching her intently. After a few sprints, Jess looks back to the stands, Bronte is nowhere to be seen. Jess is the last to finish up on the track when she heads to the change rooms. The lights shut off, assuming the staff is unaware she is there she calls out. Moments pass, the lights begin to flicker, behind the curtain Bronte’s silhouette emerges. Jess backs into the corner of the shower; the lights flicker again, then stop, Bronte is nowhere to be seen.

That evening, Jess takes out the rubbish in her family home, when she opens the bin she sees the bottle of steroids lying there. Shocked, Jess looks around frantically wondering who could have planted them there. That night Jess tosses and turns in her bed, replaying her actions over and over again. Cut to race day, Jess is on the track, anxious and on edge, walking into the stadium she sees Bronte in the crowd but loses her face in the midst of the excitement. The contenders take their places, heart pounding Jess looks left and sees Bronte standing on the sideline holding the starting pistol, she turns her head to face Jess and raises the gun. In a fit of fear, Jess runs off the track and into the change rooms her coach hot on her tail. Jess confronts the coach hysterically claiming that Bronte is trying to kill her. Shaken the coach attempts to settle Jess explaining that there was no way Bronte could be plotting to kill her as she had taken her life only days after being dismissed from the team. Bronte looks up, frozen and unable to speak, over her shoulder stands a blurred figure resembling Bronte.
