Final expenses to say goodbye to Emanii

“What is a legacy?
It’s planting seeds in a garden you never get to see”

We’re raising money to help Krystal cover the sudden funeral expenses for Emanii, and to cover some of the debt racked up during this horrific battle with this godawful disease.
On Jan 29, 2004 Emanii showed up in this world which you know if you knew her because she never let you forget when her birthday was coming up. From the very first day of her life she was always beautiful, with the most radiant smile and angelic ringlets that disguised her utterly mischievous nature. Pinch her brother and pretend she was never near him? Yep! Name her pet pony an obscure Arabian name that no one could figure out how she had made it up, only to later discover a cute boy in her kindergarten class had the same name? Yep! Pretend to fall asleep when she wanted out of a boring conversation? Yep!

Thankfully those traits evolved into the smart, sassy precocious Emanii we all know and love: The Emanii that would stay up into the wee hours of the morning to have giggly conversations and binge watch “The Office” or “Friends” as long as she could snuggle with someone, or have you on video chat. The Emanii that wouldn’t hesitate to pull the cancer card if you wanted to eat at a restaurant she wasn’t into. The Emanii that had little patience for stupid adults but boundless love and patience for her small cousins and siblings and friends. The Emanii that became an amazing artist and a talented singer, and keeper of Alexander Hamilton’s flame. (Seriously. How many times did she make YOU listen to “the Schuyler Sisters?”) She was a ferocious fighter that bounced back from harsh chemos, failed treatments and health scares with a dark humored joke and a resolve to just keep moving. Whether she was feeling great or having a bad day she still had such a joy, you couldn’t help but want to be around Emanii. This extended into to her meeting local celebrities, the Hamilton Broadway cast (complete with backstage tour) and the Vice President’s wife. Emanii was so lovable she even got an impromptu bedside birthday serenade from Justin Timberlake (I told you she was serious about her birthday!) Emanii leaves behind a trail of love from Florida to Texas to Hawaii and everywhere in between.

Though Emanii left us suddenly due to complications from leukemia on May 29, 2019 we can only assume it was because she finished trying every art project in the world and now she’s some place resting, waiting for the next Lin-Manuel project.  All stories, photos and memories are welcomed and encouraged because “when you’re gone, who remembers your name? Who keeps your flame? Who tells your story? “
