Hello family and friends!
I need your help! I've a grand opportunity to start my career in filmmaking! If you don't already know, I'm currently a student at Georgia State University. I'm in my fourth semester as a double major in film and theatre, 3.7 GPA and climbing, a National Collegiate Scholar, and aiming to graduate in May 2019 at the earliest, May 2020 at the absolute latest.
The opportunity I mentioned above is my greatest accomplishment thus far. Aside from being a straight A student, I'm one of three "sophomores" (amongst seniors and graduate students) that has been accepted to study abroad for the month of May in Budapest, Hungary! This film program will allow me to experience all of the aspects of filmmaking. I'll be acting, directing, filming, writing, working with sound, and editing in some of the most well-known film studios in the industry.
Many times, I've considered how hard it is to break into the industry and gain footing to become successful. I've faced lots of doubt and expectations of being a starving artist. In opposition, I've reenrolled into school, maintained a means of income to adult on my own for the most part, and have worked as an extra in productions to get a taste of the future I want to create for myself.
Here's where you come in. I need to raise $4000 by April 30, 2018. This covers all of my expenses for the trip: roundtrip airfare, hotel, transportation, guest speakers, excursions, and equipment.
